You are invited to apply for the Stay Wider of the Rider start group
at the 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour.
Pledge your support for our campaign and apply for this year’s Stay Wider of the Rider start group at the 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour. The group is seeded to start at approximately 07h54, directly after the top groups and before the charity groups. (Time and group seeding number to be confirmed soon).

It is mandatory to be a paid up member of PPA and to ride in a Stay Wider of the Rider cycling jersey.

You can join the PPA online if you are not a member, go to www.pedalpower.org.za and click on membership to complete your application.

Members must already be successfully entered into the 2026 Cape Town Cycle Tour to qualify. All applications will be verified for payment before being successfully added to the start group.

Members must wear a Stay Wider of the Rider cycling jersey. We are offering a discount on certain jersey selections to members riding in the start group at the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo. We will also be launching a new range of jerseys at the expo, celebrating the PPA’s 50th Anniversary. (*While stocks last)

Any person not wearing one of the Stay Wider of the Rider jerseys, will not be allowed to join the Stay Wider of the Rider start group and will be relegated to the back of the start groups.

Jerseys are available online www.pedalpower.org.za (click on merchandise to order). Please note all orders placed in February must be collected at the Cape Town Cycle Tour Expo. *There are no online specials.

Once accepted and seeded into this group, you will not receive an individual Cape Town Cycle Tour seeding as well.
Applications close on Saturday, 31 January 2026 at midnight and an email confirming the outcome of your application will be sent out to you.
Allocation into the Stay Wider of the Rider group will be done randomly from the applications received.
If your application to be reseeded into the PPA Stay Wider of the Rider start group is NOT successful, you will remain seeded in your original Cape Town Cycle Tour start group.
